The two weeks since my last post have passed in a flash. I’ve finished at work, moved out of my flat and had some emotional goodbyes with friends and family.
It’s been a chaotic time to say the least – here are a few highlights of my final weeks in the UK.
Leaving drinks and meals
I’m very lucky to have met some truly wonderful people in and around Newbury over the past few years. I’ll miss you all a lot! I had some great send-offs and presents. Thank you to everyone involved – it really means the world to me. Some killer hangovers ensued!
Practice hike with Sean
A few Sundays ago my friend Sean asked if I fancied a walk together. It turned into a cracking practice hike on the Ridgway. Our circular route took us through some typically quaint English villages and countryside. It got fairly muddy in places and the trekking poles came into their own! Thanks Sean!
West Wittering Beach
I stayed at my Grandmother’s in Sussex over the Easter weekend. We managed to squeeze in a walk at West Wittering, my childhood beach. It’s a fantastic place and my dog Bella was in fine form!
I really will miss everyone I’m leaving behind – but am looking forward to seeing you all when I return in the Autumn.
Now the journey to the trail begins – via Chicago and Atlanta!
